Have you just swapped out your answerphone for an AI version, or is the AI actually built into your telephone system?

AI agents are genuinely useful for handling out of hours calls and overflow when no one answers but let’s be honest, your old Panasonic Easa-Phone KX-T1416DBE from the early 80s did that job too. Perhaps it lacked today’s AI polish but it worked.

So the real question is, why bolt modern technology onto an old process just to end up doing the same thing? Shouldn’t we expect more?

The “Bolt-On” Trap

Putting AI on the outside of your phone system can still bring benefits although it does have some real drawbacks.

First, the upside. Whether it’s fully integrated or simply bolted on, AI can be deployed quickly, which lets telephone providers say, “Look, we’ve got AI.” It ticks the box fast. Some so called integrations aren’t integrations at all, they just divert calls externally when no one answers, routing them to another company’s number and calling it a “telephony integration.”

Our General Manager, Luke Grieveson, kicked off the conference with a bang. He couldn’t wait to show off the amazing products and services NTA has been cooking up over the past year. From new and exclusive handsets to advancements in Whatex, our Partners could tell we’ve been busy.

But the real showstopper was the upgraded MobeX softphone. With remote work becoming the norm, we listened to our partners’ needs and delivered big time. This new and improved softphone is a powerhouse, with features like seamless call management and group chats for supercharged collaboration. It’s like having a superhero sidekick for your telephony needs! NTA knows the world runs on messaging apps, so they introduced Whatex, their very own WhatsApp integration solution. Now you can harness the power of WhatsApp for instant communication with your customers. Oh, and let’s not forget about call recording. It’s become an essential tool for businesses, and NTA’s got you covered. Their call recording bundles make compliance a breeze, boost customer service, and improve training and quality management. It’s like having a personal assistant that never misses a beat!

But wait, there’s more! Marcelo Terres, our Development Manager, unveiled some mind-blowing enhancements to the partner portal. Text-to-speech, Telephone Preference Service, and Transcriptions. These tools will supercharge your services and streamline your operations, all with a user-friendly interface that will have you smiling from ear to ear.
